Welcome to the ANFF
(Association
of Novi FireFighters) website. This site has been created and funded by
the ANFF to provide information regarding who we are, what we do, and
how to
contact us.
The City of Novi utilizes a cost effective 'dual' emergency response
system comprised of full-time career firefighters and Paid-On Call
(POC)
members. The ANFF is the organization
representing the POC members and presides under the auspices of the MAFF
(Michigan Association of FireFighters). Fundamentally, the POC system helps to ensure that hard earned tax dollars are spent
wisely by providing the necessary emergency resources when and where
required.
When the department
career
members go home for the day and return to
their
homes in the surrounding districts, POC duty
crews take over as first response teams available for immediate emergency
dispatch. All other POC personnel respond from their Novi
homes as needed every evening from 6:00pm - 6:00am
and
weekends operating silently, in the background - except during times of
emergency - to provide essential emergency services.
All ANFF members reside within the City of Novi. You may even know one of us
personally. One of us might even live right next door to you! Because of our commitment to this City, we have a vested and
personal interest in the community and the emergency services provided. The ANFF continuously endeavors to protect the level and quality of these services .
Our members come to
the
department from a variety of backgrounds. Combined with mandatory
qualifications as required by the department, each individual member
brings
along a valuable wealth of professional and life experience. We are
Builders, Electricians, Company Executives, Administrators, Mechanics,
Computer
Programmers, IT Specialists, Engineers, Physician Assistants, Designers,
Real
Estate Representatives, Business Owners, Social Work Administrators,
Carpenters, Animal Handlers, Professional Drivers, Construction
Managers,
Paramedics, Nurses, Emergency Medical Technicians, Medical First
Responders and
Dispatch Supervisors to name just a few.
We are proud to be an
integral
part of the Novi community and we are dedicated to serving you when you
need us
most.
